Research On The Cooperation Model American University Library And University Press In Publishing Service

At present,China's library publishing service is in the early stage,learning from the mature library publishing service cooperation model of American university libraries to help China's relevant practical activities and research.The American library publishing service began in 1988 and began to rise in the early 20 th century.In the course of more than 30 years of development,we have been adhering to the concept of openness and cooperation to promote the widely spread and utilization of resources.The cooperation between library and press is one of the prominent features of library publishing service.The cooperation between the press and the library on the same campus can be said to be the best.The development of digital also provides strong technical support for the cooperation between the two.University libraries have unique collection resources,electronic resources construction management experience and corresponding technologies.University presses have publishing experience.The common goal of both sides is to support the teaching and research of the university and promote the publication,exchange and dissemination of academic research results.This study first analyzes the advantages,dilemmas and cooperation opportunities of university libraries and university presses to provide publishing services,so as to clarify the feasibility of cooperation between university libraries and university presses.Secondly,the online survey method was used to investigate the cooperation projects of 38 American university libraries and university presses publishing services.Based on the administrative affiliation,the cooperation model American university library and university press in publishing service was divided into three modes:library and press project cooperation model,library establishment press model and press integration development model.According to the cooperation degree,from the cooperation subject,cooperation content,cooperation division and staffing four aspects analyze the micro-operational practice of each model,summarizing its characteristics and scope of application.Finally,according to the specific situation of our country,put forward the suggestions for the cooperation publishing services between the university library and the university press in China,including: According to the university library's own positioning and development strategy,university libraries and university presses cooperating to complete the topic planning to achieve the common service goal.Starting from the featured subject construction,university libraries and university presses will cooperate with the special collections to carry out publishing services and enhance the popularity of disciplines and collections.According to the relevant regulations on the development of China's publishing industry,the university library will complete the work of drafting the results and digital platform construction at the front end of the publishing service,The university press completes the publication publication approval and distribution,copyright management,etc.and enhances the academic publishing efficiency by taking advantage of each other's core strengths.Trengthens channel of academic achievements publishing and communication through the establishment of digital publishing projects,the establishment of digital publishing platforms and the establishment of publishing departments.
