Power dividing/combining is the critical research of the traditional electromagnetics.Power divider which is a important microwave passive components is used to realize power dividing/combining.Its function is to divide one channel into multiple channels or combine multiple channels into one channel.Power divider has an indispensable position in microwave application systems.There are two types of power dividers that are most used,waveguide power divider and microstrip power divider.The waveguide power divider is composed of metal waveguides.Its advantages are large power capacity and low insertion loss,but its volume is large and it is not conducive to integration.The microstrip power divider is widely used in integrated circuits due to its small volume and planar structure.But its loss is larger and power capacity is smaller compared to waveguide divider.We can seclect the structure of waveguide or microstrip according to the project requirements.The paper thesis has five chapters.The first chapter describes the applications and research of waveguide power divider in recent years.The second chapter introduces the needed theoretical basis for disigning waveguide power divider,which including the analysis of three-port network and four-port network and matching and transformation of waveguide impedance.In the third chapter,I disigned a S-band four-way power divider,which input energy through standard rectangular waveguide BJ26 and output energy through standard coaxial waveguide SMA.The fifth chapter is the summary of the paper and prospects for the future.
