The millimeter-wave band draws much more attentions of vehicular communications and cellular mobile communications because of its wide band,high speed,little interference,etc.Meanwhile,knowing the characteristics of wireless channel in practical scenarios is a prerequisite to the development of mobile communication systems.Millimeter-wave channel characteristics need to be investigated for outdoor mobile communication systems.First,two types of channel measurement systems for millimeter-wave wide-band wireless channel are designed using instruments and customized rotary tables.Frequency domain sweeping method and time domain relating method are used for the vehicle exterior channel measurement and the outdoor-to-indoor(O2I)channel measurement respectively.Next,to analyze the characteristics of vehicle exterior channel,the Alpha-Beta-Gamma(ABG)model as well as Close-In(CI)model is chosen to extract the large scale fading parameters including the path loss exponent and shading factor.Additionally,the delay distribution and angular dispersion are analyzed by calculating parameters in time delay domain and angular domain separately.Then an improved K-means algorithm based on the multipath component distance function is adopted to implement auto-clustering.Finally,to analyze the characteristics of O2 I channel,the statistical parameters and probability distribution of building entry loss are studied carefully.Also,delay distribution,angular dispersion,and clustering are obtained in office and corridor environments.According to comprehensive measurement campaign and analyzing the large-scale and small-scale fading characteristics of the millimeter-wave wireless channels in the aforementioned scenarios,this thesis provides channel data for the research of vehicular communications and cellular mobile communications in the millimeter-wave band.
