Millimiter wave transmitting module has the advantages of narrow beam,widely relative bandwidth,good confidentiality and anti-interference ability,etc.It is widely used in satellite communication system,radar system and so on.As the core of the transceiver system,it can up-convert the frequency and amplify the signal,so the property of the transmitting module can directly impact the performance of the transceiver.With the guide of the research group in “the design and implementation of millimiter wave transmitting module”,the theory of the Millimiter wave transmitting module and the engineering realization are researched in this paper.Several important work and valuable results are listed as blow: 1,The overall circuits of the Ka band Millimiter wave transmitting module are designed based on the technical indexes.The module combine with the transmitting chain,local oscillator circuit and power processing circuit.The radio frequency output signal in the transmitting chain is get by up-converting the intermediate frequency signal from C band to Ka band using the once frequency conversion method.Local oscillator circuit converts the C band Direct Digital Synthesizer's signal up to the Ka band also by the way of the once frequency conversion.The main technical indexes of transmitting chain and local oscillator circuit are fully analyzed and the design is optimized,so the best circuit architecture of the millimiter wave transmitting module is accessed.2,Based on the Millimiter wave circuit's design theory,the working principle of the mixer,filter,coupler,switch,amplifier,power splitter and detector in the Millimiter wave module are fully expounded.The circuits of filter,coupler and power splitter are optimized by using the simulation software,and the best circuit's schemes are get.The devices of the radio frequency circuit and the power processing circuit in this module have been selected.The mixer,power splitter and amplifier in this frequency band are produced in focus,and the characteristic curves of the components are tested in order to provide powerful gist for satisfying the technical requirements of the transmitting module.3,Related problems of the Millimiter wave transmitting module in Actual manufacturing are explained.The Cavity effect of the transmitting module has been discussed.By using the HFSS in designing,the optimal Cavity architecture is get.Then,with Miniaturized design for the module,the whole circuits are integrated in the limited structure.At the same time,the schematic and the printed circuit board of millimiter wave transmitting module are designed.Based on the above work,the transmitting module is produced.4,The debugging method of the power processing circuit and the testing process of the main technical indexes in the millimeter wave transmitting module are explained in detail,the testing results have been analyzed.As the results shown that the transmitting power and local oscillator power of the module are more than 15 dBm and the spur rejection is better than 60 dB,so the designing targets of the transmitting module are achieved.
