Digital microfluidic chip detection technology is a product which combines digital microfluidic technology and traditional detection methods together.Compared with traditional detection methods,digital microfluidic chip detection technology has several advantages,such as better precision,less probability of cross contamination and lower cost.So that digital microfluidic chip detection is a technology with great application potential and research value.Currently,digital microfluidic chip detection is still in the stage of study and exploration,so we should do more in-depth research on this detection technology.At the beginning of this paper,the current developments of the digital microfluidic chip detection technology both domestic and foreign are reviewed.Then the mechanism for the digital microfluidic chip detection is introduced.The droplet generating and operating methods,which are usually applied in the digital microfluidic chip detection,are also discussed in this paper.The construction technique of digital microfluidic chip detecting system is studied in this paper.A digital microfluidic chip detecting system is composed with fluid driving device,digital microfluidic chip,droplet detecting device and waste liquid recovery device.In this paper,design and processing method of digital microfluidic chip and fluid driving method are explored,and a pressure driven fluid inlet device to drive fluid in the microfluidic chip,including circuit design and software development is developed.Then,the digital microfluidic experimental system is constructed,applying the microfluidic chip and fluid inlet device developed before.With this experimental system,a series of experiments are carried out to generate and operate droplets,these experiments including generating droplets in the T shape micro-channel and cross shape micro-channel,droplet collecting and mixing.These experiments providing data and conclusions,lays the foundation of developing a digital microfluidic detecting system.Finally,droplet detecting methods are researched.There are 3 droplet detecting methods usually used: driving droplets to form a sequence,and detecting them one by one;driving droplets into an array and detecting them using image processing method;storing droplets in a chamber,and detecting droplets with image processing method.In this paper,software is developed using C# language and EmguCV image processing library to calculate the number of droplets in a chamber,which are irregular arranged and having fluorescence reaction.
