In the history of academic publishing in the world,although the development of academic publishing in the United States started late,after years of development,there is an indispensable influence in the history of world publishing today.From the current proportion of publishers in the world,the United States accounts for 60%,followed by the United Kingdom,accounting for 27%,and currently the world's publishing giants such as Reed Elsevier,Taylor-Francis,etc.Both of them began to be active in the United States.The rapid rise of American academic publishing power is a miracle in itself.In the history of academic publishing,the United States once again surpassed the old academic publishing countries such as Britain,Germany,and the Netherlands,and became the giant of academic publishing today.It can be seen that the development of academic publishing in the United States is also Very compelling.The academic publishing boom in the United States not only increased the visibility of academic publishing in the United States,but also attracted excellent sources of research in other countries.Of course,China is no exception.The phenomenon of the outflow of manuscripts has become more and more serious,and many scholars have called for scientific research papers to return to the mainland and write on the land of the motherland.It is precisely because the "American worship" phenomenon of academic publishing has become more and more fierce in the world.This article takes the evolution of the American academic publishing system as the starting point,first explores the formation of the American academic publishing freedom system,and secondly explores the establishment of the American academic publishing system.Industry rules for academic publishing in the United States.The study found that the formation of American academic thought was influenced by the major publishing developed countries such as Britain,France,and Germany.After the struggle with the church in the process of localization,academic freedom was taken root.The establishment of the American academic publishing system was shaped by the experience of the British publishing system,because in the early days of American publishing,it was bound by the relevant laws of the British "Law of the Law",the Stamp Tax Law,and the United States.In order to fight for the unreasonable legal provisions of the United Kingdom,he strives for freedom of the press and preliminarily drafts a publishing system that belongs to the United States.Since the revision of the US Constitution supported the freedom of speech and publication,the degree of freedom of publication has greatly increased.With the development of American society,the demand for academic research is gradually growing.The birth of a large number of academic publishing institutions is another important factor in promoting the prosperity of American academic publishing.Together with the attention of the federal government and the support of relevant authorities,American academic publishing The system has gradually improved.In particular,the industry system is more flexible,large-scale publishing institutions are open to the outside world,small-scale publishing institutions are innovating internally,and mutual benefit between large and small publishing institutions has become a new force in the development of American academic publishing.During this period,the US national level,the organisers,and the relevant publishing industry have basically formed a system.The Constitution,the Patent Law,the Copyright Law,and other related systems have gradually improved,and the international map of American academic publishing has gradually taken shape.The evolution of institutions has spawned the rise of academic power.Studying the evolution of the American academic publishing system has certain reference significance for China's academic publishing during the transition period.An overview of the development of the American academic publishing system,in which institutional risk is an important factor affecting the development of academic publishing,while the United States in terms of institutional risk control from the national constitution to the industrial system,in which the inclusive and complementary between formal and informal institutions is a key issue worthy of consideration for the development of academic publishing in China.At the same time,it is worth pondering in the formation of its own academic brand and the development of researchbased universities.
