From Kang's Disciple To Newspaper Giant

In the eyes of scholars,Liang Qichao is not only a newspaperman,but also a politician.In the past 27 years in the newspaper industry,Liang Qichao has frequently participated in various kinds of political activities,and his enthusiasm for politics has surpassed the newspaper industry to a certain extent.On the whole,Liang Qichao's influence in culture and society is mainly realized through newspapers.From the media point of view,this paper reveals how the media mechanism of newspapers gradually establishes Liang Qichao's reputation as a journalist,and re-examines Liang Qichao's career choice,fame and various impacts on society.Starting from the modern newspaper industry in China,this paper combs the process of the gradual development of missionary newspapers into national newspapers.With the rise of national newspapers,the status of the newspaper group has been upgraded.The maturity of newspaper industry not only created conditions for Liang Qichao's career choice,but also made Liang Qichao see the great potential of newspaper as a tool of political propaganda,and promoted Liang Qichao's transformation from a traditional scholar to a newspaperman.On this basis,the article takes Liang Qichao's newspapers and periodicals as an example,focusing on the unique media characteristics of newspapers,such as fast dissemination,wide range of radiation,regular distribution,etc.It analyses how the newspaper network in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China influenced Liang Qichao's career choice and promoted Liang Qichao to become a generation of "great newspaper artists".Liang Qichao's rise has an impact on individuals,industries and society,thus recognizing the important role of the media in social change.
