The Study Of Thoughts About Running Newspaper From Liang Qichao

Liang Qichao, the first people to run newspaper as a politician, is the superior of running newspaper as well as the master of theory. He accumulated a wealth of experience and proposed lots of newspaper claims. The three newspapers The State, The China Discussion and Xinmin Series Newspaper founded by Liang Qichao occupy an important position in Chinese history of newspaper. As the mouthpiece of the bourgeois reformists, the three newspapers were founded by Liang Qichao in the reform movement, propagandizing the ideas about constitutional reform and modernization, constitutional monarchy, and the new democratic revolution. Although the three newspapers have different missions on public opinion, by carefully analysis of the specific content of each print,it’s not hard to find that their characteristics on news and comments imply the sponsor Mr. Liang Qichao’s thought transformation from a newspaper of a party to a newspaper of a country then to a newspaper of the world.In this paper, we combine the typical newspapers established by Liang Qichao to study his ideas proposed in The China Discussion- the responsibility of Hundreds of copies of a costume bidding spree newspaper and the experience of our library, there is a newspaper of a person, a newspaper of a party, a newspaper of a country and a newspaper of the world. A newspaper of a person is the newspaper whose purpose is for a person’s or a company’s benefit; A newspaper of a party is the newspaper whose purpose is for a party’s benefit; A newspaper of a county is the newspaper whose purpose is for a county’s benefit; A newspaper of the world is the newspaper whose purpose is for the world’s benefit. Based on the original text of the three copies of newspapers and in the perspective of the evolution of Mr. Liang Qichao’s thought on newspaper, we try to interpret his thought transformation process and summarize his claims on running newspaper through the concrete text basis.This paper mainly discusses Liang Qichao’s ideas on the orientation of newspaper, studying the idea of a newspaper of a person, a newspaper of a party, a newspaper of a country and a newspaper of the world and how it reflects in the practice. At the same time, we study Liang Qichao’s ideas and practice on comments and newspaper in order to be consistent with his ideas on orientation. Liang Qichao’s thought that newspapers should try to achieve the requirement of five fundamentals, and that news should be rich, proper, accurate and fast to ensure the publicity of newspapers and periodicals and achieve its claims, still has important implications on our country’s journalism and is worth for us to learn from.
