With the widespread popularity of Internet of Things(IoT)applications and the rapid development of IoT technologies,the demand for IoT applications with low power consumption,wide coverage,large access,and low cost is increasing.To meet the application requirements in this scenario,Low-Power Wide-Area Network(LPWAN)technology emerged as the times require.LPWAN technology has the characteristics of low power consumption,long distance and multiple connections,and has rapidly been involved in some large-scale project such as smart city,smart agriculture and wisdom water.As one of the representative technologies in LPWAN,Long Range(LoRa)has achieved outgoing development and relatively wide application at home and abroad.Based on LoRa,this thesis analyzes and studies low-power wide-area IoT,and designs a low-power wide-area IoT system based on LoRa.The main work is as follows:(1)Study and analyze the principle and characteristics of LoRa technology,and verify the feasibility of LoRa for low-power wide-area IoT applications.According to the application situation of LoRa technology at home and abroad,LoRa technology and low-power wide-area IoT are analyzed and researched,and the traditional IoT three-layer technology framework is used to design the framework structure of the system.According to the application requirements of low-power wide-area IoT,analyze the role of nodes,gateways and servers in practical applications,as well as the software functions and hardware performance,we design the hardware structure of nodes and gateways,and the basic architecture of the server.(2)According to the hardware structure of the node and the gateway,and considering the actual application scenario,firstly we decide the kind of hardware of nodes and gateways,and then determine the model specifications of the chip and module used in the hardware;finally we design and implement the hardware circuit of nodes and gateways.(3)We have designed a suitable LPWAN communication protocol for system,and have achieved communication between system nodes and gateways,gateways and servers,as well as related functions of nodes,gateways and server.A series of test experiments to verify the feasibility and stability of the system.The LoRa-based low-power wide-area IoT system designed in this paper achieves performance in low-power,long-distance,low-cost IoT scenarios,and solves the problem that traditional IoT applications can't approach both long-distance transmission and low-power consumption.The implement of system in modern agriculture further verify the effectiveness and stability of the system.Moreover,the research is summarized and the direction of system optimization is proposed,which provides a reference for future research.
