With the development of wireless communication technology,their network structure,protocol and physical layer technology are diversified.Because different networks cannot communicate directly,and the requirements of users for network performance such as transmission delay,transmission bandwidth,throughput are broadening day by day,highquality heterogeneous converged network is the trend of wireless networks developing.In this thesis,the simulation platform of Ad Hoc and WiFi heterogeneous network is built using NS2 platform,and a node energy awared routing algorithm of communication between heterogeneous networks is simulated with the evaluation of QoS parameters.Firstly,a gateway node through loose coupling for the Ad Hoc and WiFi heterogeneous network are designed on NS2.A wireless heterogeneous network platform is thus built to realize network functions like data forwarding with priority scheduling,network information collection and routing control.Afterwards,an energy module is added to the node model so as to make the node energy aware.On this platform,with a weighted sector clustering routing algorithm based on node state information including residual energy,residual bandwidth and residual queue length in Ad Hoc network and Dijkstra shortest path routing based on residual energy of nodes in WiFi network,the routing path selection problem of Ad Hoc/WiFi heterogeneous networks is studied by simulation.The influences of the weight allocation in the clustering routing on QoS performance parameters including network lifecycle,packet loss rate,throughput,delay of the commucation from Ad Hoc nodes to WiFi nodes under different transmission rates is analyzed.With optimal weights of the best QoS parameters among simulation results,the corresponding sector clustering routing algorithm is investigated in Ad Hoc network in the case of WiFi network without node energy limitation.The simulated QoS outputs are compared with those using CH,Lowest-ID and AODV routing algorithms under the same circumstances.The simulation results show that the data delay and packet loss rate of the weighted sector clustering algorithm with node state information are lower than those of the three algorithms.The study in this thesis provides a basis to further study QoS routing algorithms for Ad Hoc and WiFi heterogeneous networks.
