Study On "Han Hai Chao"

"Han Hai Chao" is a comprehensive monthly magazine founded by the Cultural Movement Committee of Xinjiang Provincial,affiliated to the Kuomintang's Xinjiang Provincial Party Department,from 1947 to 1948.It has three editions: Chinese Dihua edition,Chinese Shanghai edition and Uygur Dihua edition,due to its different distribution places and audiences.Its purpose is to "communicate the cultural exchanges between Xinjiang and the Mainland" and to promote the development of Xinjiang society through cultural construction.However,due to the nature of the official organization,it has the characteristics of the Kuomintang's "local party magazine".Although the publication of this magazine started in a short time,it has retained considerable information on Xinjiang's history,ethnic,culture and current affairs.Among the three editions of "Han Hai Chao",the Chinese Shanghai edition are the most complete and abundant.Therefore,this paper takes the Shanghai edition as the main research object.Firstly,it analyses the background of the publication of "Han Hai Chao",introduces the process of the National Government replacing Sheng Shicai in governing Xinjiang and the cultural control policy adopted after entering the new era,especially the establishment of the Xinjiang Provincial Cultural Movement Committee,which is the competent organization of "Han Hai Chao".Secondly,analyzed the editing,publishing situation and author group of the journal,including the purpose and founder of the journal,the general situation of the edition and distribution,the opening of columns and layout design,etc.Quantitative analysis of the author group focuses on the author's identity,background,disciplines and other information,so as to further understand the contents and ideological trends of the journal;Thirdly,the content of this magazine is reviewed.Mainly divided the fifteenth issue of Shanghai edition into three categories: current politics and situation,history and culture,and data collection.And introduced the basic situation and characteristic articles of each part.Finally,it explores the historical value of "Han Hai Chao".Aiming at the status of the materials in this journal,analyses the value ofhistorical data utilization,especially taking Yang Zengxin's rare diary as an example,and analyses the important value of this journal in literature and historical data.
