The cause of Kazak press in Xinjiang rose in the early years of the 20th century. The establishment of People's Republic of China promoted major Kazakh newspapers'and journals'foundation and opened a new era for Xinjiang Kazak press. Although the conditions were difficult, the party's official newspapers, such as "Xinjiang Daily" (Kazakhstan version), published one after another, basically forming a multi-level system of papers. During the Cultural Revolution, Xinjiang Kazakh newspapers and journals suffered damage. Since the reforming and opening up, the Kazakh newspapers in Xinjiang have entered into a period of new development and prosperity, by promoting the content and updating their technology. Xinjiang Kazakh newspapers are paying more attention to local economic development. The Kazakh literary journals, scientific and technical journals, education and research journals continue to appear. After entering into the 21th century, Xinjiang Kazakh newspapers have a new development. New policies help Xinjiang Kazakh newspapers upgrade the overall quality. The development of Xinjiang Kazakh newspapers and journals record Xinjiang Kazak people's social, political, economic and cultural life changes as well as cultural exchanges between the Kazakh people and other people of various nationalities in Xinjiang.
