With the advent of information age,the significance of information security has been raised to an unprecedented level.As the cornerstone of information security,the security of cryptographic processor is very important.Cryptographic processor is widely used in handheld devices,which perform as the escort of user's personal information security.Side-Channel attack which focusing on the security of cryptographic processor has become a great threat to the information security.As one of the most representative attack methods used in side channel attacks,the electromagnetic analysis has attracted the both attention from academic and industry.The locality and concealment of electromagnetic has led to a new type of attack named----Local Electromagnetic Analysis,which can capture electromagnetic leakages from gate circuit.This new type of attack invalidates many traditional countermeasures against Electromagnetic Analysis.So it is of great significance to propose countermeasures against both electromagnetic analysis and local electromagnetic analysis.The main goal of this paper is to propose countermeasures against electromagnetic analysis and local electromagnetic analysis,and providing a system to evaluate the security of cryptographic processor when utilizing countermeasure based on the reconfigurable characteristic.This paper first modeled the most important step of electromagnetic analysis---the electromagnetic sampling,a model named electromagnetic sampling model will be proposed.The electromagnetic leakage in cryptographic processor is firstly analyzed,then the most important tool used in electromagnetic analysis is analyzed.The model of electromagnetic analysis revealed the key factor influence the sampling process,and differences between the traditional countermeasures against electromagnetic analysis and local dynamic reconfigurable countermeasures against electromagnetic analysis are also analyzed.The core concept of local dynamic reconfigurable countermeasures against electromagnetic analysis is to providing error traces during the sampling process.Based on the modeling and analysis results of sampling process,this paper proposed a reconfigurable platform oriented anti-electromagnetic attack model---Sampling Error Model.Under the guidance of the Sampling Error Model,three countermeasures based on the dynamic characteristic of reconfigurable processor is proposed.In the last part of the paper,on the RCP reconfigurable platform,the security of three countermeasures applied on six common used cryptographic algorithm are analyzed,the performance,area and power overheads of three countermeasures are also analyzed.Under the constraint of 5% performance overhead,35% area overhead and 10% power overhead,the sampling error rate of the attacker can reached 99.99%,which means that the 10000 attempts of attacker can only get one correct sampling trace.Under the quantitative analysis in the last part of the article,the specific ranges of throughput,hardware resources and energy overhead are 4.43%~5.00%,25.20%~34.45% and 3.60%~7.88% respectively,while the minimum error rate of the attacker are 99.5%,the highest error rate of the attacker can reach 99.99%.
