During the process of the development of wireless sensor networks,the limited energy of the node has been a prominent problem.The node's working life almostly depends on the capacity of the battery if it is inconvenient to change the battery.The application of high-capacity batteries or batteries with a higher energy density will lead to the increase of nodes' volume and cost.Based on this background,this paper extends nodes' work hours greatly by solar energy and monitors all nodes in the network.At last,it finishes the design of a maintainable system of wireless sensor networks.At first,the present situation of wireless telecommunication technologies and energy harvesting technologies is described in detail.Then,this paper analyzes the ZigBee technology which is used to build wireless sensor networks as well as several energy harvesting technologies and power monitoring technologies.Based on the analysis,this paper proposes some schemes to realize functions of relevant portions and determines which scheme will be adopted after further analysis.After that,the design process of system hardware and system software are provided.Finally,the whole system is tested by an experiment.This paper describs the performance of the system by analyzing experimental data.The node of wireless sensor network which is based on energy harvesting technology does not need to change battery frequently,and it's work hours can be extended greatly.As the result of it,the cost of network maintenance can be reduced.What's more,the cost can go lower by matching management system since it can monitor all nodes in the whole network in real time which can result in more targeted maintenance.
