With the rise of the mobile Internet, social networks have become an indispensable part of the lives of Internet users. The data generated by social networks has produced huge economic benefits and provided many conveniences for people's lives. However, the social network privacy issues that followed have become increasingly serious. The research on the perception of social network privacy risk has become a hot topic in the field of communication. Some studies have shown that there is a third-person effect on the perception of social network privacy risk, but there is a lack of in-depth discussion on its influencing factors and influencing mechanisms. This paper attempts to study the third-person effect and its influencing factors in the perception of social network privacy risk from the third-person effect theory. After the third-person effect theory was put forward in 1983,it became an important research direction in the field of communication. With the development of Internet technology, especially the development of mobile Internet,it provides new research directions and ideas for the theory of third-person effects. This paper discusses the influencing factors of the third-person effect in this context based on the perception of social network privacy risk.Discuss whether the factors and mechanisms affecting the third-party effects have changed and how they have changed in the context of mobile Internet. This study used questionnaires to collect data, which was involved in all ages and academic levels. After the data was cleaned,483 valid questionnaires were left.Through the paired sample T test,it is found that there is indeed a third-person effect in the perception of social network privacy risk, and the greater the social distance, the stronger the third person is.Through correlation analysis and regression analysis,it is found that the influence of age on the effect of the third person in the context of mobile Internet is no longer a simple linear relationship, but is more in line with the regularity of the quadratic curve, showing an inverted U-shaped trend. The pre-existing position no longer significantly affects the strength of the third person.Self-acceptance and related knowledge levels significantly affect third-party effectiveness.
