With the development of unmanned system moving towards the directions of intelligence,networking,systematization,and agility,various applications of unmanned systems in both civil and military sectors have seen rapidly developed.An unmanned system consisting of autonomously moving robot nodes needs to perform tasks through node coordination during the movement process.To support intelligent collaboration,wireless broadband communication system can be typically used to transmit multimedia information to support QoS-guaranteed message forwarding.Wireless LAN(WLAN)that comply with the IEEE 802.11 standard is a cost-effective communication solution when mobile nodes in the system are not far from each other.However,the WLAN technology is not directly usable in mobile environment.When the nodes of the unmanned system are aggregated to perform tasks in a limited range,if we could locate the AP at the logical center of the node set,or let all mobile nodes follow the AP`s movement,the nodes can use WLAN technology.We define the nature of all such nodes following the AP's movement within a certain range as the flocking of WLAN.The research purpose of this dissertation is to expand the flocking function for WLAN technology to support the intelligent node set of unmanned systems to use WLAN technology for QoS-guaranteed broadband communication.Firstly,this paper proposes the concept of WLAN with flocking.Based on the concept of swarm intelligence,a WLAN with flocking model is established which make all nodes maintain the movement trend centered on the access point.Secondly,we proposed a distributed mobile WLAN with flocking(DMWF)algorithm which enable the network nodes to determine its own behavior and follow the AP`s movement and find a solution method based on sensing distance using Wi-Fi and sensing the movement trend of AP using position system,making the WLAN flocking.Thirdly,the experimental platform is implemented based on OMNeT++,and the feasibility of the model and technology is verified by the simulations.Simulation results show that the DMWF algorithm makes the original WLAN with flocking,and has the advantages of low computational complexity,strong real-time performance and low sensor requirements.Finally,based on the proposed flocking model,a WLAN with flocking prototype system has been designed and implemented.The smart cars and the Raspberry Pi embedded development boards are used to carry out the collaborative work test between multiple smart cars.
