At the beginning of 2017,Hunan Channel launched a new reality show “Back to Field”.This program is a slow-rhythm show filled with humanity.It changed the inherent style of the previous variety shows,which later led to the concept of “slow variety”.How are the slow variety show different from the previous shows,how can we define this new program format? How is "slow" expressed? How do the unique narrative,emotion,and culture of these slow variety shows attract the audience?Based on the previous research results,from the perspective of poetic realism,this paper analyzes and expounds the slow variety shows in China.The researching ideas of this thesis is to determine the definition of the slow variety shows,analyze the relationship between slow variety,fast variety and variety show,and tease out the background of the slow variety shows' development.Additionally,it summarizes the research actuality of slow variety shows and the concept of poetic realism creation.Combined with the theories of TV narratology,structuralism and escapism,the essay deeply analyzes the construction characteristics of poetic realism in slow variety shows from three aspects: programming,program main body and the sentiment of program.The specific research framework of this thesis is as follows.The first chapter discusses the routinization and lifelization of slow variety programming.Through analysis,the author draws the conclusion that coordinated with the style of slow variety realism,the programs adopts non-drama conflicting narrative clues to present the theme of expressing the true state of the characters in daily life.In terms of narrative time,the shows reveal the original duration and the order of the storyline are reproduced and,at the same time,add the time-distorted part to integrate the realistic arrangement into the artistic expressions.The livelized logical structure,which emphasizes the process more than results,intensifies cooperation and weakens confrontation,is placid but memorable.The second chapter discusses the defamiliarization and anthropomorphization tendency ofthe main body of slow variety shows.The main body of the program is the core element of the slow variety,and the theme of the real life state of the character determines the daily arrangement.The character is immersed in the aesthetic scene and experiences the poetic atmosphere in the process of slow life.As the main body of the slow variety,the external narrator undertake the four responsibilities of storytelling,storyline management,situation descriptions and thought transferences.The participants of the program are presented in the form of “beauty” and “deaf”,and are given the “labeling” functional positions and role combinations to experience real slow lives.As a special subject,small animals are endowed with human characteristics and emotions under the anthropomorphic narrative logic,adding a comedy effect beyond the main storyline.The third chapter talks about the poetization and aestheticization of the slow variety shows.The “Poetic Reality” constructed by the slow variety shows creates a beautiful rural farmhouse living landscape through the “purification strategy”.The poetic scenes of the shows presents a slow and steady rhythm and slow lives,guiding people to awaken and enrich their spiritual world with their own creative creations.The poetic sentiment of the program expresses people's desire to escape the chaotic urban space in reality to the ideal beautiful natural space and seek for spiritual harmony and balance during the temporary escape.To summarize,with the construction of poetic realism,China's slow variety shows build the audiences' daily lives a utopia as an an imaginative artistic compensation for them,which conforms to their aesthetic ideal of daily lives.However,as this slow variety is a new type of program,it is in its infancy,and there are still some common problems for the early development of all variety shows existing in these slow ones.For example,the themes of these slow variety shows mostly focuses on stars that personally experience rural rural life or operate inn,so there come problems such as narrow subjects,blind imitation and limited spiritual depth.In addition,as the essence of the slow variety,slow rhythm sometimes becomes just a banner of some variety shows.The participants could not really slow down to live,and the program organizers still relied on deliberately creating suspenses,conflicts,and hot topics to attract the attention of the audiences.Therefore,how to dig out some more profound subjects and how to grasp the extent of "slow" more properly are the two problems that need to be gradually matured and improved during the explorations.From the development track of TV variety shows in recent years,it can beinferred that variety shows nowadays are increasingly influenced by the deeper humanistic sentiment more than the sensory entertainment stimuli.They develop in a more profound and broad trend,and the audience's aesthetics gradually evolve from the superficial senses to the deep spiritual senses.This change will create and provide a more favorable space and more innovative opportunities for slow variety shows,and this social environment will become a fertile soil for the growth of slow variety shows.The type of programs are moving from a rough and brutal form to a more rational,diversified,and vertical path of benign development.
