Rapidly developing mobile communication technology makes the low-end spectrum of wireless communication crowded. The requirements for bandwidth, directionality, and gain the antenna are increasing.Single-band antennas can't meet the needs of the industry.Dual-frequency or multi-frequency microstrip antennas with high transmission efficiency, small system size, and strong anti-interference attract close attention. The main research contents of this paper are as follows:A single-frequency rectangular patch antenna operating at 60 GHz is proposed.Considering the advantages and disadvantages of series and parallel feeding methods,a millimeter wave series feed array antenna is designed.Based on the laminated antenna theory,a two-layer array antenna with two resonance points of 55.7 GHz and 65.0 GHz is designed. The impact of overlays and parasitic patches on the antenna is investigated. Moreover,a three-layer microstrip array antenna is proposed in order to improve the gain and bandwidth of the antenna.According to the electric field distribution of the antenna,an antenna operating at 45 GHz and 60 GHz is put forward. In order to improve the antenna bandwidth, coupling feed is selected as the feed mode of the antenna.A dual-band microstrip antenna with dielectric overlay and parasitic patch is designed based on the stacked antenna theory. The effects of circular and rectangular parasitic patches on the resonant frequency are explored. Then an antenna with cross-loading parasitic patches is proposed.Furthermore, the influence of overlays on the properties such as bandwidth, gain,is studied. The characteristics of terahertz communication are introduced and the defective ground structure(DGS)filtering characteristics are analyzed.A single-frequency antenna loaded with 45-degree and 135-degree parasitic patches is proposed, and the antenna is double-bands by using a DGS structure. The effect of the overlay shape on the performance of the antenna is researched.Combining of a circular overlay and a parasitic patch, the gain and bandwidth of the antenna increase. The final designed antenna working 483 GHz and 690 GHz dual bands with a gain of 9.5 dB and a bandwidth of 18.2% is obtained.
