The millimeter-wave phased array antenna has the advantages of small size,flexible beam scanning performance,strong anti-interference ability,etc.It has been widely used in radar remote sensing and satellite navigation,and will be gradually applied to 5G mobile communication,automobile automatic driving and other fields.At present,the common phased array antenna units at millimeter-wave frequencies band usually have a narrow bandwidth and asymmetrical radiation pattern,and the conventional transmission line has high loss and large size.Aiming at the above problems,this paper uses a combination of electromagnetic full-wave simulation and physical processing test to design a millimeter-wave magneto-electric dipole phased array antenna fed by substrate integrated coaxial line.The main work and innovations of this paper are summarized as follows:1.A magnetoelectric dipole antenna operating in the 5G millimeter-wave band is designed.A low-loss substrate integrated coaxial line is adopted in the feeding structure,and the antenna is integrated into a single-layered dielectric substrate.The two substrates are fixed by a bongding film and the energy is coupled through a slot.The end of the feed transmission line is open,and parasitic resonance is introduced by the back-cavity structure,which can reduce the size of the antenna and ensure the broadband characteristics.At the same time,the design guideline has also been summarized based on the parametric study.2.A transition from standard waveguide to substrate integrated coaxial line is designed.The substrate integrated cavity increases the thickness of the substrate in the monolayer dielectric substrate,and improves the matching bandwidth of the transition.In addition,wideband feeding networks with equal and unequal phase distributions are designed based on the substrate integrated coaxial line.3.Magnetoelectric dipole phased array antennas with sizes of 4×4 and 8×8 are designed.The mutual coupling features and antenna performance are analyzed,and the appropriate selection of element spacing is discussed.Based on the proposed transition and feeding network,the scanning characteristics of 1×8 array antenna are analyzed,and the 1×8 linear array antenna is fabricated and measured The measured results are in good agreement with the simulation ones,which verifies the performance of the antenna.
