The pursuit of happiness is the important meaning of life in the world, and continuously improving the happiness of the public is also one of the basic goals of the stable development in the country. However, happiness is not simply based on the material basis.Fundamentally,it is a subjective inner feeling of satisfaction and pleasure of the public. The academic community has made a long exploration on the influencing factors of subjective well-being,and scholars want to explore the ultimate meaning of happiness from multi-disciplinary fields. The change of media social role, the development and iteration of media technology make the public live in the mimetic environment created by the media. The type of media possession, frequency of contact and content acquisition all invisibly affect the way of thinking.Diversified, intelligent and interactive mobile terminal devices continue to deepen the audience's dependence on the media. The content carried and transmitted by the mass media will affect the subjective feelings of the public. Therefore,it is necessary to take journalism and communication as the starting point to study the impact of media use on the subjective well-being of the public.According to the Chinese Social Science Citation Index(CSSCI)and the Social Science Citation Index(SSCI)database, the Chinese and English documents related to “subjective happiness” and “usage of media” are searched for “keyword” and “subject” respectively.Draw a trend graph of different years and provide a macro overview of the relevant content.Through Citespace's visual citation analysis software, the research object, subject differences, research methods and measurement scales of the “subjective happiness” and “media use” were sorted and classified in the literature from 1999 to 2018 respectively. Then, select valid data from the 2015 Chinese General Social Survey(CGSS)to determine the research sample. In the selection of measurement dimensions, summarize demographic factors based on the differences between Chinese and foreign scholars' research disciplines and research paradigms;taking relevant data from the 2015 China Statistical Yearbook as an economic control factor;differences between the questionnaire and the frequency of use of the media and the main sources of information as media use factors for empirical research. An empirical research on influencing factors of subjective well-being is the focus of the article.Descriptive statistical analysis of the subjective well-being of the interpreted variables to understand the basic evaluation of the public's subjective well-being;descriptive statistical analysis and establishment of research hypotheses on the measurement dimensions involved in demographic factors, economic control factors, and media use factors in explanatory variables, and analysis of subjective well-being in populations with demographic factors and media use factors, verify part of the research hypothesis.According to the variable type of the subjective well-being of the explanatory variables and the distribution of the data, the corresponding regression model is selected and constructed, and the model results are briefly analyzed. The analysis of the historical evolution of media use is a complementary study of subjective well-being.Through the comprehensive survey of 2012,2013 and 2015 longitudinal survey data as a sample of analysis, media analysis and subjective well-being are analyzed in the form of cross-tabulation.The historical evolution of the situation, through the rank sum test to compare the subjective well-being of the public, the frequency of media use of the public, the subjective well-being and the annual difference in the use of the media, focusing on the impact of media use on the subjective well-being of the public.Through empirical research, the subjective well-being of the public also has difference between household registration and gender, also affirm the positive impact of higher education level, marriage, participation in social security, participation in work, higher social class self-evaluation and physical health and other factors on public subjective happiness.Among the economic control factors, per capita GDP and per capita medical expenditure have a significant negative impact on subjective well-being.Per capita education and per capita cultural expenditure are conducive to enhancing the public's subjective well-being.However,economic control factors have little influence on subjective well-being.The public's use of radio and television has a significant positive impact on their subjective well-being,the use of newspapers and the Internet(including mobile Internet access)can affect subjective well-being by demographic or economic factors. The main source of news is the higher public happiness of the new media. The people who mainly gain news source from new media are happier. On the basis of the integration of research conclusions, analyze the deficiencies of research, then conduct research prospects and follow-up research recommendations.
