As a perspective network of the Internet of Things, wireless sensor networks can collect information of specific areas through network nodes, which is convenient for managers' analysis and decision-making.It has been widely used in environmental monitoring, smart cities, disaster prevention and other fields. However, since the energy reserve of the sensor node is limited and the energy storage device is not easy to replace, the energy consumption problem has always been the focus of the wireless sensor network. In particular, energy optimization is a top priority for the overall performance of the network. To this end,the paper has done the following research work:Firstly, the communication principle of the classic MAC layer protocol is studied, and the improvement of the S-MAC protocol is proposed from the handshake mechanism. On the one hand, using the subscription message of destination node for the next hop replaces the destination node's reply to the source node, thereby reducing the number of control messages and reducing the network's invalid energy consumption;on the other hand, according to the service characteristics of the wireless sensor network, the frame structure of the MAC protocol is redesigned to simplify it,thereby reducing the number of bits of the control message and reducing the network energy consumption. In addition,to enhance the robustness of the link, the protocol uses REQ messages to prevent node corruption and link disruption.Secondly, based on the correlation between clustering algorithm and routing algorithm, the clustering mechanism based on fuzzy logic and the routing mechanism based on ant colony algorithm are improved respectively. In terms of clustering mechanism, five parameters of residual energy, distance to BS,distance to neighbor, node degree and node centrality are used as input variables of fuzzy inference system to make the results more reasonable,so that clustering process focuses on network energy and relative position of nodes. In terms of routing mechanism, the relationship between the same layer algorithm is considered, and the residual energy and position information are used in the improvement of the ant colony algorithm elicitation function and pheromone,so that the transition probability can reflect the influence of energy and positional relationship, and the network energy distribution is optimized..Finally,the MAC layer protocol and the network layer protocol are related through the cross-layer protocol model, and under certain assumptions, the simulation verification of the cross-layer optimization design method is completed. The results show that the proposed EOCP protocol has certain performance improvement in terms of average energy consumption and network lifetime compared with LEACH protocol,TEEN protocol,DEEC protocol and EAUCF protocol.
