Research On Short Video Social Platform And Underage Users

With the popularity of mobile Internet,the upgrade of mobile communication technology and the change of people's reading habits in the era of fragmentation,A series of mobile short video platforms,such as Miaopai,Tik Tok,Kuaishou,and volcano video,are gradually emerging.Because these short video platforms are characterized by strong entertainment,simple production methods,personalized creation techniques,and short duration to meet fragmented reading habits,They are attracting more and more people,especially young people,in the era of mobile Internet.In the younger group,the group of minors is particularly special:Their age of contact with the network is decreasing,the ownership rate of mobile phones,tablets and other electronic products is rising,Online behavior is more frequent.When minors encounter short videos,a series of complicated problems follow.The online world is very complicated and dangerous,Risks such as vulgarity,violence,pornography,and other inappropriate personal and online privacy exposures threaten the physical and mental health of minors.Based on the existing literature,supplemented by focus group interviews and in-depth interview survey methods,this paper summarizes the media contact habits and characteristics of the catwalk behavior of short video minors represented by short video,Tik Tok.These features include the high degree of living of minors,the need for network literacy,and the variety of online behaviors.The reason why it can attract underage groups is related to the attraction of Tik Tok popular songs,fragmented video browsing mode,the habit of browsing minors,the low threshold of short video creation,and accurate algorithm recommendation.In the psychological motivation behind the use of short video by the minors,the minors have a variety of psychological appeals such as pursuing freshness,maintaining social relationships,self-presentation and recognition,herd mentality,and idolatry.At the same time,minors are exposed to addiction,easy access to vulgar error values,easy exposure to pornography and violence,risk of personal privacy exposure,and adultish tendencies of minors in short video use.While reviewing and evaluating the measures for the protection of minors currently adopted by the short video platform,the author starts from multiple dimensions such as the government,schools,families and Tik Tok,and based on the best examples from abroad,Minor protection provides some references and recommendations.
