Research And Realization Of Print Dot Area Detection Based On Android Platform

There are few studies on the convenient quality inspection of printing dot area in China.On the market,most of the existing portable dot area detection devices are from foreign countries and the price is expensive.Based on this situation,a method for measuring ratio of dot area based on Android platform is proposed in this paper to realize the portable dot area measuring.In this paper,we research dot area detection algorithm,and analyze advantages and disadvantages of those algorithm.A method of calculating dot area based on edge detection is raised in this paper.First,we use Gaussianfilter to remove the noise of the dot image.Second,use the Canny edge detector to get the edge image of dot.The dot image is binarized based on dot edge.According to binary dot image,we use the ratio of the black pixels in the image to calculate the dot area.Experiments show that the algorithm can calculate the dot area strictly.According to the method,we design an Android application that can measure ratio of dot area.A micro-magnifying lens is installed on an Android mobile phone,so we can take pictures of dot area.Using the method which we raise in this paper,we can calculate dot area,complete dot area detection.And the Android application has high stability and low cost,which can be applied to the dot area detection of printing.Then the problem of high cost portable printing dot area detection and the inaccurate detection results can be solved.
