Image edge detection techniques are currently used in printing dot measurement.At present,it is widely believed that Canny edge detection algorithm can perform better edge detection performance compared with other edge detection algorithms.However,the filtering effect of impulse noise(pretzel noise),which is often found in print quality inspection systems,is not satisfactory.According to this current situation,this topic proposes the Canny edge detection algorithm based on adaptive median filtering to achieve the purpose of improving the edge detection effect of printed dot image.And we develop the edge detection system of print dot image based on Canny algorithm with adaptive median filtering on Android platform.The paper firstly researches and analyzes the common algorithms for image edge detection,and further discusses and practically applies the Canny edge detection algorithm for adaptive median filtering,and performs edge extraction on four types of printed dot images,including offset,flexo,gravure and screen printing,and objectively evaluates its effect by peak signal-to-noise ratio PSNR.The edge detection effect and good denoising effect of the algorithm for printed dot images with impulse noise are verified by comparison experiments.
