Research On Innovation Diffusion Theory Of Wechat Usage By The Elderly

The technological development from computer to mobile phone and keyboard to touch screen shortens the digital divide between the elderly and the Internet.The nearly-marginalized group of people can access information more faster and easily through the convenient network.The conventional user of the Internet has gradually become an information maker from the original information receiver.At present,the number of elderly people using WeChat is quite large.The benefits of using WeChat by the elderly group include broadening their horizons,making friends,learning new knowledge,shortening the distance with friends and relatives,and keeping pace with the times.Therefore,this paper aims to study the use of WeChat by the elderly of Shanghai who are over 60 years old and their behavioral characteristics,and to explore the diffusion pattern and follow-up behavior of WeChat usage.The research methods mainly include quantitative research methods and qualitative research methods.This thesis is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly includes research origin and background,key concept definitions and research significance.The concept introduces the definition of mobile social software,the definition of the elderly and the definition of innovation diffusion theory.The second part is literature review and theoretical basis,including the application of innovation diffusion theory,the research of elderly mobile software and the research of WeChat communication.The third part is the research design,including WeChat diffusion and factor diffusion analysis,research hypotheses and research methods,sample sampling and questionnaire survey.The fourth part is the description of the results,including the descriptive analysis and empirical research of the variables,mainly using SPSS data analysis software to verify the relevant hypotheses and draw conclusions.That the old people use WeChat's duration,frequency,whether to continue to use WeChat,and whether to recommend others to use WeChat is relevant to and WeChat's relatively superiority,ease of use,observation,personal innovation,socialenvironment and compatibility.The fifth part is my conclusions about the current research,and the inadequacies of this research.Finally,the paper also contains relevant suggestions about how to build a healthy spiritual and cultural life for the elderly with the help of the fast spread of WeChat and other software applications.
