Optical fiber sensors have the advantages of small volume,high sensitivity,high precision,corrosion resistance,resistance to electromagnetic interference,integration of information transmission and sensing,easy communication network parallel.They can be pasted on the surface of structure or embed in the structure by pre-burying for real-time and long-term measurement of external or internal physical parameters of the structure.Based on the previous research of fiber Bragg grating sensors,this paper studies the fiber Bragg grating sensing technology applied to dam monitoring.The following studies have been carried out:1)The research status of fiber Bragg grating and its application in steel-concrete structure are introduced;2)The basic structure,temperature and strain sensing principle and common wavelength demodulation methods of fiber Bragg gratings are described.3)FBG packaging technology and strain temperature decoupling methods are presented;3)A tube-packaged fiber Bragg grating sensor suitable for the dam's steel-concrete structure is designed,which can be easily installed in the dam's special environment and realize temperature compensation;4)The displacement and stress conditions under the force of the dam are simulated by ANSYS software,and the maximum position of the deformation and stress are found based on the simulation,which provides a basis for the placement of the FBG.
