In recent decades,optical fiber communication technology has developed rapidly.Especially in recent years,with the rise and prosperity of mobile Internet,cloud computing,big data as well as the development of large data centers,the demand for communication bandwidth has been increasing a lot.Under this background,the optical fiber communication system put forward higher requirements on the energy consumption and rate of communication,while the traditional optical transceiver module cannot meet the demand in the size and energy consumption.With the development of fabrication technology,the monolithically integrated chip with multiple functions will gradually replace the discrete optical devices,which is also the development trend of optoelectronics.Based on this background,this paper will mainly study the photonic integrated receiver based on Muiti-Guide Vertical Integration technology and etched diffraction grating.First of all,the basic structure,working principle and basic characteristics of etched diffraction grating are introduced.And then the design method and numerical simulation method of etched diffraction grating are presented.Then,the basic theory of etched diffraction grating was put into use in the design of 1310nm band etched diffraction grating with a 10 nm channel spacing,which can be used as(de)multiplexers for high speed Ethernet in 100Gbase-LR4 systems.A detailed analysis of the simulation and experimental results are presented.Then we optimized the spectrum bandwidth of the etched diffraction grating by introducing arc-shaped grating teeth method.And an etched diffraction grating with flat passband is obtained.After that the process of fabricaton is introduced.Then,based on Muiti-Guide Vertical Integration technology,the structure and princple of the mode spot converter are introduced.And the design steps of the pattern spot converter are presented.Then,we analyzed the design process and simulation results of the spot converter in detail.And the performance of loss of the spot size converter is analyzed.Then the structure of the detector is designed,and the simulation results are analyzed.Finally,the layout of the receiver is presented,which consists of spot size converter,etch diffraction grating and detector.At last the overall fabrication process is introduced.
