Research And Design Of A Conformal Omni-directional Antenna

As a research hotspot of modern antenna technology,conformal antenna has a wide application prospect in military and civil communication,especially in the vehicles sunch as aircraft.The conformal antenna can be effectively compatible with the carrier without affecting its aerodynamic performance.And the conformal antenna features good electrical performance such as broad beam coverage and low radar cross section(RCS).This thesis mainly designs an ultra short wave(USW)conformal antenna and studies the effect of complex carrier environment on antenna radiation and impendance characteristics.The thesis includes two sections:First,a research of conformal antenna is based on characteristics of monopole.Combined with related theory,a pair of ultra-wide band conformal antennas is designed.And the related technology about widening band of the conformal monopole antenna is studied.During the process of designing conformal antenna,a combination of two antennas is proposed to overcome the occlusion effect of the body and improve its horizontal radiation characteristics.Loading on the radiation patch properly based on the antenna loading technology can realize the wide band working characteristics of the antenna.This study focuses on the influence of the body structure on the antenna radiation and impendance characteristics.The level of the antenna radiation characteristics has been improved by optimizing the parameters of the shape of the antenna patch and the load position.Second,a research and design of conformal antenna is based on slot anteena.In order to improve the radiation characteristics of the antenna,a slot antenna is proposed to design the conformal antenna.By optimiziation and simulation,the H-type slot antenna is designed.In addition,the broadband working characteristic of antenna is realized by the means of loading technology.Simulation results show that the horizontal radiation characteristics of the conformal antenna are significantly better than those of the monopole antenna with weakening distortion and no depression in the direction and back direction.On basis of the H-type slot antenna,this thesis effectively improves the radiation characteristic of the antenna by changing the shape of the radiating slot,relative position and feeding structure.
