Transform optics theory and metamaterials provide an extremely convenient method for the arbitrary control method of electromagnetic waves.With the development in recent years,it has become a research hotspot in the optics and electromagnetism domain.At the same time,it has also spawned various forms of applications,providing scholars in the fields of optics and electromagnetic fields with new design ideas and research directions.Since the metamaterial produces magnetic properties while generating electrical properties,the transform optics have limitations of high loss and narrow bandwidth when regulating electromagnetic waves.The appearance of quasi-conformal transform optics(QCTO)avoids the limitations of the use of metamaterials,and retains the homogeneity,wide frequency band,and low-loss performance of materials,thus making it possible to manufacture allmedia devices.It has been widely used in quasi-isotropic devices,such as carpet capes,curved waveguides and other device design.This paper researches the application of quasi-conformal transform optics on phased array antennas.By using quasi-conformal transformation optics to transform the virtual linear array space and the physical conformal array space based on the invariance of Maxwell's equations before and after the transformation,the far-field radiation of the two spaces is equivalent,therefore the conformal array can achieve linear array radiation effects,and then the linear array array synthesis design theory can be applied to the conformal array design to simplify the conformal array design process.Under specific polarization,the mapping between the linear array space and the conformal array space coordinate system is designed using the simplified two-dimensional quasiconformal transformation optical theory.The electric property parameters of the transformed conformal array space are calculated by the mapping relationship of the coordinate system.To further verify the accuracy of the model,the designed lens-integrated phased array with different element are caculated for full-wave simulation.The lens design is achieved with a square element block that imparts a permittivity.The radiation effect of the lens based conformal phased array antenna is analysed using a dipole antenna as the array element to see if the lens can be simplified.Considering the realizability of the lens,it is simplified and analyzed.The results show,Simplifying the lens has little effect on the far-field radiation performance of the antenna,the lens can be simplified to some extent.The dielectric perforated unit block is used to realize the non-uniform distribution of the permittivity.The accurate electrical performance parameters are obtained from the Sparameter retrieval theory,and the lens is realized by this;Design broadband patch antennas as radiating elements for a conformal phased array antenna to improve its realizability;Design a one-eight power division phase-shift network to see its real scan performance.The actual object was processed and tested,and the performance was compared with the simulation results,the result show that the test results are in good agreement with the simulation results.The research in this paper shows that the designed QCTO lens can make the conformal phased array radiation align with the linear array,it indicate the lens designed by QCTO theory can realize the electromagnetic wave control of the array on the conformal surface,and this theory can extend to arbitrary surfaces.Provide more extensive ideas and design methods for research in electromagnetic fields and antennas fields,and create more innovative research results.
