Investigation Of Outsourcing Risk Managemengt In Insurance Company A's New Core System Software Development Project

With the development of science and technology,information system has been widely employed to replace the manual work in insurance industry.The rapid growing demand of information technology promotes the information technology outsourcing,especially the information system development outsourcing,which shows its superiority.It will continue to be the trend in the next few years,but at the same time the risks coexist and should not be ignored.The thesis is based on the IT outsourcing and risk management,analyzed from the perspective view of the outsourcing side namely the insurance company,and investigated through a typical and informative example of the new central business system outsourcing development proj ect due to its most critical position in insurance company's^information system.It firstly uses interviews and fishbone diagram methods to recognize the risks at different stages of insurance company A's new central system outsourcing development project.Then the Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis(PFMEA)are used for qualitatively and quantitatively evaluating the risk factors.Finally,according to the evaluated risk level,strategies and plans are proposed to prevent or elevate the higher level risks,considering the insurance company's inside and outside environment and practical situation of the new central system development project.For example,a plan with POC verification and grading criteria in an open bid was proposed for how to select a proper contractor at an open biding situation;The cooperative and collaborative outsourcing plan is suggested to avoid excessively dependence on the contractor.For requirement management,the spiral model is suggested and etc.The investigated result is instructive and practical which provides clues for other information system outsourcing development projects of insurance company A and other outsourcing project risk management of other insurance company.
