After nearly 30 years of development, optical fiber communication has become the main mode of large capacity, high speed and long distance data transmission. There are three main factors restricting optical fiber communication, namely transmission loss, dispersion and fiber nonlinearity. At present, the limitation of optical fiber transmission loss has been basically solved, and the use of optical fiber amplifiers has enabled the optical fiber communication system to achieve long-distance transmission of 10,000 kilometers.Dispersion and nonlinearity effects in optical fiber communication systems have been extensively studied. The dispersion in optical fiber communication system will accumulate with the transmission distance and the dispersion tolerance of high-speed optical communication system is small, which hinders the development of high-speed long-distance optical fiber communication system.Optical fiber communication systems use light as carrier and therefore have very large bandwidth resources. In order to achieve high-capacity system transmission, optical fiber communication system has gradually changed from single-wavelength communication mode to wavelength division multiplexing communication mode.Dispersion compensation in high-speed WDM optical fiber communication system has attracted much attention, and has become a research hotspot in optical fiber communication and been widely studied. In this paper optical fiber communication system is briefly described.Secondly, based on Maxwell's equations and the transmission conditions of optical fibers, the transmission equation of picosecond pulses in single-mode optical fibers is deduced in principle. The principle of dispersion compensation based on dispersion compensation fiber is explained based on pulse transmission equation.Pulse transmission in single-mode optical fibers is realized by using distributed Fourier numerical method in Matlab based on pulse transmission equation.Simple simulation analysis of dispersion effect, dispersion compensation,self-phase modulation and optical solition transmission. In this paper,a new dispersion compensation method based on dispersion compensated optical fibers for WDM systems is proposed. This dispersion compensation method combines with the traditional dispersion compensation method in WDM systems to derive a variety of compensation situations. The main work is to verify and explore the dispersion compensation effect of the proposed wavelength division dispersion compensation method for WDM system, and compare the proposed dispersion compensation scheme with the traditional dispersion compensation scheme for WDM system.Optisystem software is used to study the dispersion compensation schemes of wavelength division dispersion and the effects of various wavelength division dispersion compensation schemes derived from them on each channel of WDM system. The simulation results show that the pre-dispersion compensation scheme has the best system performance among the three traditional dispersion compensation schemes in the 10Gbit/s 8 channel WDM system with a transmission distance of 300 km.In the 10Gbit/s 8-channel WDM system with a transmission distance of 300 km,the Q-value of the system can be improved by adding the wavelength-division dispersion compensation mechanism to the traditional post-dispersion compensation mode, and the Q-value of the system can also be improved by using the wavelength-division dispersion compensation mechanism in the traditional symmetric dispersion compensation mode.In traditional pre-dispersion compensation WDM systems, the use of wavelength-division dispersion compensation can not improve the transmission performance of the system.
