Small target detection in the sky background has been widely applied in military and civilian fields.Small targets have a small number of pixels,shortness of shape information and a low SNR.These properties make it difficult to detect small targets.Visible light cameras and infrared cameras have various features in the working environment and image properties.Single band cameras are difficult to meet increasing requirements in the working environment and image detection.With the development of the visible light camera from megapixels to tens of millions of pixels,the infrared camera is gradually coming into the megapixel level,and the real time challenge of the back end image processing system is increasing.Therefore,it is of great practical value to design a set of high real-time,megapixel imaging detection system which exploits visible light camera and infrared camera.Relying on the research projects in this laboratory,a megapixel imaging detection system is designed.The detection algorithm of megapixel imaging detection system is studied and designed.The algorithm flow of target detection is studied,and the working environment and image characteristics of visible and infrared cameras are studied and analyzed.On this basis,a background suppression algorithm based on the partial differential equation is employed on infrared images.For visible light images,aiming at the imaging characteristics of visible small targets,a background suppression method based on improved high pass filtering is proposed.Compared with the traditional high pass filtering method,this method has a obvious improvement.Then,the algorithm of threshold segmentation and target clustering with small computation and high real-time is selected.The overall simulation of the system algorithm is carried out.The results show that the algorithm can detect small targets in the sky background of visible and infrared cameras effectively.The requirements of the megapixel image detection system are analyzed,the functional block diagram of the hardware system and the structure block diagram of FPGA+ multiDSP are designed.The hardware design is divided into four parts,including the video acquisition module,video processing module,video display and target information,output module and system power supply module.The chip selection and circuit design are carried out surrounding this four parts,and the detailed design of the hardware system is completed.The overall software flow of the megapixel imaging detection system is studied and designed.The software system can be divided into two parts,including FPGA and DSP.Taking the visible light camera software as the representative,the software system is designed in detail.The experimental debugging is carried out on the developed megapixel imaging detection system.The test results show that the system can detect the small target in the sky background effectively,and the real-time performance is above five million pixels,which meets the design requirements of the megapixel imaging detection system.The optimization technology of DSP used in the system is introduced.The use of optimization technology is a powerful measure to ensure the real-time performance of the system.Finally,the research highlights are summarized.The study of megapixel imaging detection system effectively solves the problem of small target detection under the sky background,and has lots of advantages,such as good detection effect,rich working environment and high real-time performance.The shortcomings of the system are also introduced,and the direction for further improvement is prospected.
