The Design And Implementation Of An Assistant System For Old People Based On Android

With the accelerated aging of population in China,the problem of the elderly has become increasingly prominent,and the phenomenon of "empty nest" elderly is getting more and more serious.However,the corresponding aging industries are not quite sound in China,not to mention that only few companies concern about the demands of the elderly for the Internet.As a result,smart phone applications developed for the elderly are very rare,as most of the market applications are aimed at young people,which are inconvenient for the elderly to use.The elderly are in urgent need to use the smart phone to integrate into the modern Internet social life.Therefore,it is necessary to design a special assistant system for the elderly based on their features,so as to solve the problems they encountered during the use of smart phones.Different from the elderly desktop launcher,the assistant system for the elderly mobile phone user also has a voice assistant function.In addition,based on survey conducted on the physiological aspect,psychological aspect and mobile phone usage habit,the functions in terms of communication,safety and health are also introduced.This system mainly uses four components and a variety of sensors of Android;besides,Baidu voice recognition,semantic analysis and map location technologies are also adopted.In the contact module,the contact database of Android system is used to design and implement the elderly version of contact function;in the security module,fall detection algorithm is used to detect whether the elderly has fallen down in real-time,besides,this module also provides the functions of quick relatives help,quick alarm and quick location sending;and in the health module,heart rate detection function is achieved,besides,this module provides information service for the elderly in regards of health care.The assistant system for mobile phone elderly users can replace the original desktop launcher,so that the elderly can access to the smart phones.In addition,the mobile phones can be operated via voice in terms of the interaction aspect and can be used to communicate with friends in terms of communications;it can detect whether the elderly has fallen down and send helping information in terms of security;more importantly,it can also detect the heart rate and movement of the elderly in terms of the health.
