TCP/IP,a universal protocol,though can be used in a variety of complex network environment,does not apply to all communication systems.The traditional TCP/IP which spends a lot of effort to ensure reliability and flow control of data transmission,is too complex and needs a lot of system resources.However system resource of embedded equipment is limited,and the requirement for real-time is high,thus traditional TCP/IP protocol is not suitable.What's more,TCP/IP can't adapt to frequent and dynamic migration of application due to the opacity of communication address in cluster system.Device with hotplug support is very popular,especially in the communications industry,such as various types of signal instruments,switches and routers,etc.It is like a small scale cluster system which requires real-time communication.Transparent Inter Process Communication(TIPC)is a protocol specially designed for efficient intra cluster communication,and is mainly applicable to system with high availability and dynamic characteristics.The paper first elaborates mechanism of TIPC,then studies the key technology of its realization,finally completes the design and development of the embedded cluster communication network model with strong real-time and high availability for 10 U OTN equipment which researched by a communication company independently.The main research work and innovations are as follows:(1)Complete the transplantation and deployment of the TIPC,working as integration of L3 and L4,in the internal network of embedded cluster equipment.(2)Design real-time communication system based on TIPC.Study the source of TIPC's advantage in real-time by transmission time model analysis.Improve the real-time performance to the greatest extent by developing data communication with system priority.(3)Design system with high availability based on TIPC.Design dual redundancy of nodes and communication links to realize high availability based on the transparent logical address,topology subscription and multi-link mechanism provided by TIPC.(4)Propose the optimization of TIPC according to the characteristics and needs of the embedded cluster system.1)Broadcast the notification of service address instead of unicast to save the bandwidth and improve the efficiency;2)Implant Nagle algorithm into stream socket communication of TIPC to improve the network throughput for short data.The test results show that message response time between nodes can be improved approximately by 10% after transplanting TIPC,and system can meet the availability requirement of telecom switching equipment for 99.9999%.The research of this paper is of great value to engineering application.
