The paywall has achieved great success in the transformation of traditional Western newspapers,unlike the United States where it generates,or in Europe,which is widely spread in many countries,even Japan and Hong Kong where the paywall is implemented and applied widely,the paywall has encountered construction in the domestic environment that makes many newspapers drop the model.It is of great significance for newspapers to study the reasons why it is difficult for domestic newspapers to build paywalls,and demonstrate whether the paywall can become a method of realizing the paid content of domestic newspapers.It is the abasement for explore the role of the paywall in the digital transformation of the newspaper to understand the history and status of the paywall,but there is a lack of related research on domestic newspapers.Therefore,this paper find 49 newspapers which currently have paywalls from 1792 samples published in the China Journalism Yearbook 2016.Then summarize and analyze the types,characteristics and questions of their paywalls,trying to fully and completely present the current situation of the domestic paywall,from which may provide reference for more newspapers.On the basis of mastering the whole situation of the paywall of the domestic newspaper,the paper analyzes the confusion of domestic newspaper's content realization.Combining domestic and international specific examples,the paper also discusses the advantages and disadvantages brought by the establishment of the paywall,and analyzes whether it is feasible and how to realize the paid content of domestic newspapers,with a view to providing more referenceable experience for more newspapers in the digital transformation.
