Analysis Of Castells 's Information Technology Paradigm

Manuel Castells is known as the "theorist of the information age".The network society theory he proposed is a broad and complex ideology system,involving information capitalism,flow space,network identity,and virtual reality.If the multidimensional examination of the relationship between information technology and society is the main line of Castells' s communication thoughts,then,as the premise and foundation of the existence of network society,Castells is undoubtedly embarking on an information technology revolution and its paradigm as an entry point.This is also the premise and entrance for us to grasp his theory of network society or other network communication theory.This article is based on the theory of information technology paradigm,one of Castells' s theory of network society.The full text is divided into three chapters: the background of the formation of information technology paradigm,the analysis of Castells' s information technology paradigm and the evaluation of Castells' s theory.From the theoretical perspective,basic assumptions,concept definition,core characteristics,research conclusions,and other aspects,Castells' s information technology paradigm is systematically analyzed,and then the value of his information technology paradigm is dialectically considered.This article mainly uses the literature research method,focuses on qualitative analysis,comprehensive knowledge of sociology,technology,communication science,philosophy of technology,and in-depth interpretation of Castells' s works and related research literature,to explore the information technology revolution from From the historical sequence formed,deeper into the technical aspects of the network society,revealing the technical logic of Castells' s theory of social networks,and at the same time exploring the implications of this paradigm for communication science and the information technology revolution of China.The study found that the paradigm of information technology is flexible.The paradigm of information technology in the Chinese context is not only consistent with Custer's theory,but also shows its uniqueness due to its own social and cultural systems.How to adapt to the growing maturity and expansion of the information technology paradigm is an inescapable topic in the information age.
