How to increase the utilization of data center network bandwidth is a problem that data center operators need to consider.In this paper,our approach to schedule delay tolerant background traffic over the residual bandwidth to increase the bandwidth utilization of the link.However,the difficulty is that the residual bandwidth is time and spatial varying.How to schedule data in dynamically changing bandwidths and design routes is a major challenge for researchers.First of all,this paper proposes a distributed algorithm that can dynamically design routing,storage and forwarding of data according to the dynamic change of the residual bandwidth of the link.Secondly,the overall architecture of the algorithm in the Software Defined Network(SDN)environment is designed,and a data center network system composed of a controller and virtual switches is set up.Lastly,a BackPressure algorithm is implemented under the network system.The main innovations and contributions of this article are as follows:1.We propose a BackPressure based joint flow scheduling and bandwidth allocation algorithm which does not require the prior-knowledge of residual bandwidth.The algorithm does not need to know the residual bandwidth in advance,allowing data to be temporarily stored in the data center and waiting for the remaining bandwidth to be forwarded to the destination.Its main idea is to balance the buffers of two adjacent datacenter nodes as much as possible by pushing data across the link between the two nodes using the residual bandwidth,where the buffer size is regard as the pressure of the buffer.The buffer size is considered to be the pressure buffer.2.We redesign the buffer reallocation scheme in each data center to cope with random changes in the remaining bandwidth of each link.The buffer queue re-allocation in the data center provides a pressure difference for the buffer difference on both sides of the link in the BackPressure algorithm.And for data forwarding within each data center,a next-hop routing scheme is provided.3.The BackPressure algorithm is implemented in the SDN network.This practice completes the design and implementation of link remaining bandwidth measurement under the SDN network.It also preliminarily designs the overall implementation architecture of BackPressure in the SDN environment,sets up the data center network,and performs partial verification of the algorithm.The simulation results of the algorithm show that the BackPressure algorithm based on the change of the remaining bandwidth of the link proposed in this paper has the characteristics of system stability,large throughput and fairness distribution.With SDN environment,the controller,data center,and data center network can work together effectively to solve the batch data processing problem on inter-datacenter networks.
