With the improvement of computation ability and the rapid development of computer-aided design and manufacturing, people have more and more demand on the physical plausible deformation of three-dimensional model in virtual space. In the past, the research on deformation and modeling often neglected whether the 3D model could yield under forces and whether the deformation process met the physical law of the model material because of limitation of computational complexity. The lack of physical plausible deformation tend to make the user feel unnatural. And mechanical model designs that do not obey physical law will have the risk of fracture when 3D printed out. Therefore,an intelligent model editing system based on interpolation function is implemented in this paper, which can quickly and smartly adjust through simple user interaction while keeping the structural features of the model intact.Users can elegantly work around some design flaws detected by the stress analysis. In order to obtain the physical simulation effect which is as close as possible to the real world in the computer, this paper presents a soft object deformation modeling algorithm based on depth camera and physical simulation. The real object deformation is captured to optimize the model material parameters in physical simulation. The finite element method modeling soft object fits the deformation track of that material in reality.
