Channel coding technology can enhance the reliability of communication systems.Researchers have worked to find channel coding schemes that meet Shannon's limits for many years,yet none of these schemes have been achieved.The polarization code designed by Turkish scientist E.Arikan in 2009 been proved achievable Shannon limit theoretically.The excellent performance of the polarization code makes many scholars competing to study it,yet these studies were concentrated in the ordinary land mobile communication system,and were based on the longer code length,for underwater acoustic communication has not been studied.Nowadays,with the pose of the national marine strategy,the requirements for underwater acoustic communication are also increasing.Therefore,it has great practical significance to study the channel coding technique with underwater acoustic condition.This paper is devoted to study the polarization code is or not suitable for underwater communication environment and comparing with the traditional coding technology.The article gives the history of channel coding and decoding technology and the related information of polarization code,and makes a research on the channel polarization and the channel polarization caused by this process.Three decoding algorithms(Sequential Erasing Decode Algorithm(SC),Sequential Erasing List Decoding(SCL),Cyclic Redundancy Check Continuance Cue List Decoding(CRC-SCL))are studied.To simulate the different decoding algorithm and get the performance difference between them.Introducing the convolutional code as a comparison object to explore the performance of polarization code in underwater acoustic environment.Then,a uniform medium underwater acoustic channel(ISVG)is combined to simulate the performance of different code lengths,different code rates,and different decoding algorithms for the polarization code in the underwater channel.Finally,after comparing the polarization code and the convolutional code through the underwater acoustic channel,The different code lengths and the performance of the decoding algorithm were compared and the corresponding conclusions were obtained based on the comparison results.
