For solving the problem that cumbersome operation and irregular in the manual dimensioning of the tire pattern engineering drawings,an adaptive processing of dimensioning is proposed.With the development of MBD technology,the dimensioning for tire of 3D pattern is explored.The detailed research include:1)Classify four basic dimension units according to dimensioning elements of tire 2D pattern engineering drawing.The groove of tire 3D pattern is split into surface dimensioning unit and cross-section dimensioning unit by analyzing tire 3D pattern modeling process.2)An adaptive processing of dimensioning is proposed for tire 2D pattern.Firstly,the information of the complete dimensioning primitives that duplicate removed and matching is stored by means of an array,and then it is classified to obtain the type corresponding to the basic dimensioning unit.lastly,marking the corresponding dimension type by adaptive matching to finish the tire 2D pattern dimension automatically.3)For completed dimensions of tire 2D pattern engineering drawing,a method of dimension-adaptive layout is proposed.Complete the dimension layout outside the effective rectangular area by sorting method based on the vector diagram,then the vector image is converted into a bitmap by rasterizing the graphic element and the dimension,Complete the dimension layout inside the effective rectangular area by searching the blank layout area based on the bitmap.4)For the 3D pattern of tire with single pitch,the three dimensional dimension of 3D pattern of single pitch tire is completed by dimensioning the cross section,surface and sidewall pattern in three different views.5)System development and verification.Based on the above theoretical study,develop the dimension adaptive system for tire 2D and 3D with CATIA/CAA as development platform,and a large number of cases were tested to verify the effectiveness of this method.
