With the development of network technology and robotics technology, telemedicine robots have been able to assist medical workers to carry out medical monitoring and medical treatment. In the telemedicine robot video call system, how to ensure the video transmission quality of the system and further improve the user's satisfaction with the video call effect is the hot topic of current research. In view of the actual national condition of uneven distribution of medical resources in China, telemedicine robot is often used in remote areas where the network condition is poor.Coupled with the mobility feature of the telemedicine robot itself, its video transmission will encounter bandwidth limited conditions such as low bandwidth or bandwidth fluctuation. Therefore,it is of great significance to study the improvement of video transmission quality of telemedicine robot video call system. For the problem of ensuring the video transmission quality when the system encounters a bandwidth limited condition, this paper mainly did the following work:1.Comprehensively analyzes the existing deficiencies of the existing algorithm, the characteristics of the telemedicine robot itself and the practical problem encountered in the experiment, improve the adaptive rate control algorithm based on AIMD,and an adaptive rate control algorithm based on the secondary smoothing of packet loss rate is proposed. The algorithm aims at smoothing the change of the packet loss rate, making it more in line with the overall network conditions in a certain period of time, avoids frequent adjustment of video transmission bit rate. Not only avoiding unnecessary waste of robot CPU resources and battery capacity, but also improving the video quality at the receiving end and eliminates the hidden danger of message delay.2.Using the adaptive rate control algorithm based on the secondary smoothing of packet loss rate as the core QoS guarantee strategy to design and implement a telemedicine robot video call system that can still ensure video transmission quality when a bandwidth limited condition is encountered, and use it as an experimental platform for improved algorithm. Finally, under the conditions of human-simulated transmission bandwidth limited, video call comparison experiments with different conditions were performed.By comprehensively analyzes the changes in the packet loss rate during the experiment and the user's subjective evaluation of video quality and robot maneuverability, verifying that this algorithm can indeed ensure a certain video transmission quality when the system encounters a bandwidth limited condition, thereby improving the user's satisfaction with the video call effect, and demonstrating the effectiveness of the algorithm and the availability of the system.
