The latest method of the Passive Optical Network is Time and Wavelength Division Multiplexing Passive Optical Network TWDM-PON.TWDM-PON is a combination of two multiplexing(the Time Division Multiplexing TDM and the Wavelength Division Multiplexing WDM),that certainly increases the bandwidth and improves the quality of service of the network.Because of the increasing demand of clients and because of its high transmission rate,the research on Time and Wavelength Division Multiplexing Passive Optical Network has attracted more and more attention of experts and scholars.Due to the wavelength flexibility,as well as the multiple user's access,it becomes necessary and imperative to think about the fairness between all the Optical Network Unit(ONUs)so that we can improve the quality of service of the users.That fairness includes the bandwidth allocation and the time delay of using a wavelength.For the fairness between ONU,most of the researches have been done on EPON(Ethernet Passive Optical Network),not yet in TWDM-PON.The principal goal of the topic is that,according to the load of the ONUs and the principle of operation of TWDM-PON,increase the fairness among the ONUs.To deal with fair allocation of bandwidth and fair delay using a wavelength,an algorithm called “Bandwidth and Delay Fairness” BDF Algorithm is proposed.Simulation results show that the fairness with BDF algorithm is feasible.
