Compare with active network,passive network has lots of advantages,such as compatible with different transmission rates,compatible with different modulation formats,high reliability,low cost,and so on,but passive network can only transmit limited distance.Considering all those factors,passive network becomes the chief choice of future optical access network.TWDM-PON has been selected as the standards of NG-PON2 for its low cost and flash upgrade by FSAN.As we all know DMS(directly modulated signal)is much cheaper than external modulation signal,while DMS has chirp,which would combine with fiber dispersion destroy signal quickly.So in long reach DML(directly modulated laser)-based TWDM-PON,the low cost dispersion management strategy is a key topic.In this article,within the framework of TWDM-PON,we proposed a new dispersion management strategy based the positive chirp of DMS,covering range from 0 to 100 km distance.Achieving DMS transmit for long distance,high power budget and error-free transmission with low cost.The main research contents include: the chirp analysis of DML,fixed dispersion value for fiber dispersion and signal chirp management,system performance analysis.Finally,on the basis of the above-mentioned theory research,we applied the scheme in the prototype of 4*10 Gbps PON. |
