With the expanding development of the Internet,both central-level official online media and large-scale commercial portals have changed operation principle and frequently focused on the user segmentation.Their operation modes all have changed from the large scale working to the intensive and precise working,providing specific information and service to specific users.Ifeng is a big and famous commercial portal in China,which takes actions to establish local stations in some provinces and cities throughout the country as well,and uses its own advantages to develop regional operation and service regional users based on local resources and features.Ifeng Hunan Station(http://hunan.ifeng.com/)is established in Changsha,Hunan,in April 2013.At the beginning of launch,Ifeng Hunan Station was positioned as a high-quality platform according to the foundations of internal media and external resource to gather highly-educated,high-income and high position users,contributing to information products that are in-depth,credible,and new in Hunan.At present,Ifeng Hunan Station implements three strategies in regional operation.In terms of products,Ifeng Hunan Station integrates regional information resources with characteristic columns,in-depth and exclusive creations,customized promotional products,and new products for users to open up the market in Hunan.In user management,Ifeng Hunan Station gathers the high quality users in Hunan through its emotional links and functional links to continuously deepen service functions and enrich dissemination channels for news,thus stabilizing and expanding the markets.In the construction of platform highlights,Ifeng Hunan Station works hard towards three directions of Huxiang traditional culture dissemination,tourism promotion,and local warm-story and public welfare advocation,mining platform value and forming its characteristics and advantages.These regional operation strategies have achieved preliminary results,which have made Ifeng Hunan Station get rid of the predicament of homogenization of the content.Furthermore,Ifeng Hunan Station has been widely recognized for the dissemination of Huxiang traditional culture.But meanwhile,it also faces many problems such as the lack of creativity in its self-made columns,low user involvement,lack of attractive content outputs,and etc.,therefore,Ifeng Hunan Station needs to optimize and upgrade regional operation strategies by improving the quality and effectiveness of self-made columns,strengthening user thinking and interactions with users,and diversifying platform businesses to enhance its influence in Hunan.
