Recently,some countries led by the U.S.have issued a series of policies targeting Chinese mobile operators,attacking the weaknesses of China's chip autonomy and attempting to hinder China's scientific and technological progress and economic development.The only way to get out of the current predicament,is independent research and development of core technologies.Photonics integration has become a research hotspot in recent years because of its many advantages.In order to avoid repeating the mistakes,localization of photonic integrated core technologies is particularly important.Automatic alignment of optical fibers to photonic waveguides is another factor that has a great influence on the chip quality in addition to manufacturing process and structural design.This article aims to build a set of fiber-optic waveguide automatic coupling system using the existing laboratory equipment.By studying and Realization of the control system,this system will be suitable for laboratories,save time of experimental personnel,and provide ideas for industrialization and localization of large quantities test systems.The automatic test system includes an optical path section,an observation system,a mechanical section,and the control system.By using a pair of multi-function fiber holder,the system can be compatible with horizontally placed as well as vertically placed optical fiber;by using the image processing technology to measure angle and align the optical fibers;by using a unique comb scanning method,not only find the best coupling position with no fault,but also obtain the power map of the measured area,which helps to study the coupler;by programming software,the control system scans the coupling region four times to ensure the system suitable for both fiber-to-waveguide-to-fiber and laser-to-fiber coupling.Finally,an optical fiber-to-waveguide automatic coupling system assisted by the control system capable of scanning and finding the coupling position is presented.The standard deviation of the output power after continuous testing for eight times was 0.35.
