Automatic obstacle avoidance technology is one of the core technology for smart car,autopilot,intelligent robots.To explore the vehicle's automatic obstacle avoidance technology,and provide reference hardware control device,the relevant control software and the basic data for the variety of vehicles automatic obstacle avoidance the research of automatic avoidance technology being investigated.Firstly,this paper described the research status of smart car automatic obstacle avoidance system at home and abroad,pointed out that focusing on collect information incomplete,and lower efficiency is only part of the automatic obstacle avoidance system defects.According to design the multi sensor collection system with two infrared sensors in front of headstock and two ultrasonic distance sensor on both sides of the body.This system comply with requirements of information collection system and overcome disadvantages mentioned above.Secondly,in this paper,we researched the obstacle avoidance strategy,and divided the obstacles in the environment into 4 basic types,then designed avoidance strategy under the 4 types.Finally,realized the information collection system and automatic obstacle avoidance strategy in use of the Arduino development board.The results of this study designed the automatic obstacle avoidance system of smart car can correctly complete the obstacle avoidance behavior,meet the requirements of the smart car automatic obstacle avoidance,solved some problems in current automatic obstacle avoidance system,achieved the desired target and requirements.
