With the rapid development of the Internet,the network has become the most indispensable part of our daily life,as well as the information communication and science research.Therefore,many companies and Internet users demand a greater improvement on the performance of the network,quality of service and safety,which puts forward a giant challenge on the technology of the network measurement and monitoring.On the other hand,the network measurement and monitoring plays a highly important role in the management of network administrators and ISPs.Getting a real-time,high accurate and efficient network state and performance parameters can help companies,users or network managers master the performance and the resource consumption of the network so as to optimize network performance and provide better quality of service and safety.Recent years,Software-defined network(SDN),represented as the technology of OpenFlow,has been paid a lot of intention by researchers.Many enterprises and colleges have widely deployed the newly network architecture.Software-defined network(SDN)is a novel network architecture,which decouples control plane from data plane,achieving global control and flexible control of the overall network.By setting the flow table,we can perform a real-time and high accurate measurement of the network,which can realize a elaborating management of the network and improve the quality of user service(QoS).In this paper,with regard to the key technical problems of OpenFlow-based SDN network traffic measurement and monitoring,which is how to achieve a precise and real-time measurement about the relevant parameter of flows under a lower load.By making the best use of the OpenFlow protocol,we propose using the request messages of flows,tables,or ports sending from the controller for query the status of the current switch.Through further analysis,we put forward calculation scheme of the packet loss rate,delay and throughput.The designing,development and deployment is based on POX controller,and the configuration and the effectiveness of the proposed have been tested in the OpenFlow-based virtual environment based on Minnet.The results demonstrate that the proposed mechanism can can achieve a accurate and real-time measurement.In addition,we have explored some congestion management issues in the OpenFlow network.To relieve the problem of congestion in the OpenFlow network,we propose a network congestion management mechanism based on modified ant colony algorithm in SDN.Whenever it occurs congestion,we bring the link's status parameters into the calculation of heuristic factor and the updating strategy of pheromone in Ant colony routing module so as to relieve the congestion.In order to evaluate the proposed mechanism,we implement our proposed mechanism by Mininet in OpenFlow.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed mechanism cannot only effectively relieve network congestion,reduce latency,but also improve the quality of service of users.
