As the cutting-edge network design,software-defined networking(SDN)has energizing application prospects. Its center thought is to isolate the forwarding layer and control layer of the network framework, where network administrators can program packet forwarding conduct to essentially enhance the advancement ability of network applications.Traffic engineering(TE)is a critical network application, which contemplates measurement and management of network traffic, and designs reasonable routing components to direct network traffic to enhance usage of network assets, and better meet prerequisites of the network quality of service(QoS).Contrasted and the customary networks, the SDN has numerous focal points to help TE because of its recognizing attributes, for example, disconnection of control and forwarding, worldwide brought together control and programmability of network conduct. This thesis centers on the traffic engineering innovation in light of the SDN.To begin with,we firstly describe the software defined network, and then we propose a reference structure for TE in the SDN,which comprises of two sections, traffic measurement, and traffic management, and then we do some experiment about the traffic engineering.Traffic measurement oversees observing and breaking down realtime network traffic,as an essential for traffic management. In the proposed system, innovations identified with traffic measurement incorporate network parameters measurement,a general measurement structure, and traffic examination and expectation;advancements identified with traffic management incorporate traffic load balancing,Qo S-guarantee scheduling, energy saving scheduling, and traffic management for the hybrid IP/SDN.Current existing advancements are talked about in detail, and our bit of knowledge into the future improvement of TE in the SDN is offered.
