Left-handed metamaterial is an artificial material with ?<0 and ?<0.As the greatest discovery of the scientific community in the 21st century,it has been attached more interesting to the scholars,quickly.The exotic negative refraction,reversal of Doppler Effect and flat LH lens feature of left-handed have a great advantage to design the microwave devices.Recently,with the development of wireless communication technology,wireless communication terminal has been became a part of our lives.But,a high quality of terminals have been required to the people.Such as low costs and high performance.So,a high performance of the wireless communication system is a trend to the future.And as a key part of the system,it has a great significance to design antenna and filter based on left-handed metamaterial.Based on the above background,by reading the literature and theoretical analysis about the left-handed metamaterial and application.A novel dual-band left-handed metamaterial,a dual-band antenna based on the metamaterial and a diversity filter based on the metamaterial have been designed in this paper.The main results of this study are as follows:(1)A novel dual-band left-handed metamaterial based on the magnetic resonance and electrical resonance has been put forward in this paper.First,a multi-defects hexagonal structure was designed on the surface of the media.Then,the metal strip structure was etched on the background of the media.From the simulated results,an apparent dual-band left-banded band has been obtained by the central frequency of 6.7GHz and 9.3 GHz.(2)According to the previously metamaterial,a dual-band microstrip antenna and a diversity filter based on the metamaterial have been obtained.From the simulated results of the dual-band antenna,it is operating in 5.4GHz and 6.6GHz to general wireless communication system.A mutil-band filter and wideband filter response have been obtained by turning the size of the diversity filter.The simulated results of the multi-band filter shows that a quad-band filter has been proposed with the central frequency of 4.48GHz?4.97GHz?5.47GHz and 5.92GHz?And the FBW of the multi-band filter is 2.5%?4.2%?3.4%and 1.2%.Then,the simulated results of the wideband filter shows that an operating band has been obtained from 5.9GHz to 7.01GHz.The proposed left-handed metamaterial is designed by HFSS,the antenna and filter are designed by CST.Compared with the recently related designs,we know that the proposed designed have certain advantages of the operating performance.
