As the leader of teaching and research,teachers play an important role in cultivating students,providing academic activities and providing social services.In order to improve the quality of teaching staff in colleges and universities,colleges and universities all over the world have set up teacher-teaching development institutions to improve the teaching ability of teachers by serving all teachers,so as to guarantee the quality of higher education.American higher education has always occupied a place in the world,and the teacher teaching development institution has the earliest and most abundant construction experience.Comply with the global development of colleges and universities in our country,the education department in 2012 selected 30,funding research university to establish "national teacher teaching demonstration center",although after constantly learning and adjustment,development center of teaching to a certain extent,played the service role of teacher's development,but there are still some problems and deficiencies,researchers need to further study and discussion.This paper tries to analyze the differences and characteristics of teaching development centers in Chinese and American research universities by using the methods of literature research,case study and comparative study from the perspective of service and guarantee system of teaching development centers.It is found that in terms of service purpose,China lays more emphasis on "teaching" and the United States lays more emphasis on "teacher".In a service organization,our country's basic form is "belonging to a particular college,department,or research institutions,individual independence" of teaching development center organization style,the basic form is "independent model teaching development center is given priority to,individual teaching development center affiliated to a college,department or research institutions" membership organization relationship;In terms of service objects,China emphasizes more "teachers" and more "all members" for the groups concerned in the United States.In terms of service content,there are some differences in the design,implementation and evaluation of service items,but the differences in the service items themselves are not significant.According to the similarities and differences between the two service systems,this paper analyzes the guarantee system of the teaching development center of Chinese and American research universities from three aspects: system,capital and human resources.Finally,it is innovatively pointed out that in order to optimize the service system of the center,Chinese universities should change the development concept of the center,improve the organization and construction of the center,enrich the activities of the center,and improve the guarantee system of the center.
